Meet Tina

About The Author

Tina (Gulley) Augustus, published author of the book, "God's Holy Spirit: Maturing Believers for the Building of His Kingdom," a minister, life transformation expert, community leader, and founder of Elevate Services, Inc. With more than 15 years of experience, she works with churches, and non-profit organizations to provide community and resource development.

Since a young teenager her life has been dedicated toward service to the community. Some of her service to the community involved volunteering from 1995 to 2010 as board member at Chicago West Side Christian School, and from 2000 - 2001 on the Local School Council at Chicago Public Schools, Cregier Multiplex. She coordinated a major coat drive that benefited many children who were students or foster children with Centers for New Horizons, a social service helping families to become self-reliant in Chicago's Bronzeville community.

She developed a tutoring program, The Barnabas Educational Resource Center, for elementary and high school students in the Austin, and neighboring communities. Volunteers were recruited, trained, and managed to offer quality services to students, and their families. Provided reading assessments to identify proper level of tutoring, workshops to prepare students for the ACT and SAT exams.

Tina holds a B.A. from Roosevelt University, Chicago, IL, in English Literature and Black Studies, and an A.A., Harold Washington College, Chicago, IL. She received her Community Leadership & Organizing certificate from Lugenia Burns Hope Center, Chicago, IL, and Non-profit certifications from the Donors Forum, Association of Fundraising Professional, and Foundation Center.

Tina is married to Clifford Augustus, has four children, five grandchildren; and resides with her family in Chicago, Illinois.
